His Eye is On The Sparrow

“I sing because I'm happy

I sing because I'm free

For his eye is on the sparrow

And I know He watches me”

The past few months have been times of great uncertainty for many of us. Yet when we look around and when we truly listen, we are reassured by God's faithfulness.

Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God”

Have you noticed how beautiful the flowers are this Spring? Have you noticed how busy the birds are, building nests, constantly eating, feeding their young and all the while singing? These are wonderful reassurances that we are being “looked after.” Life goes on even in the midst of a pandemic.

In Matthew 10:29-31, Jesus used the sparrow as an illustration to help the apostles understand why they didn't need to be fearful. “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your father. And even the very hairs of your head are numbered. So don't be afraid: you are worth more than many sparrows.

When Satan puts doubt and fear in you, look and listen for God.

He is always faithful, always just a prayer away.

God Bless all of you,
